POCT II (Point of Consumption Tax) is set to be implemented on 1st August 2017 and bingo sites that offer their players a no deposit required bonus and cash match deals are going to be taxed on the free money they giveaway. How it all works at this point in time, we are unsure, but already we have seen Cozy Games announce that on 1st August they are to drop all their no deposit required bonuses [read more here].
Bingo Stars is being a bit more preemptive and today they removed their no deposit required offer of £10 free from their site.
Email From Bingo Stars
The email received from Bingo Stars said
We regret to inform you, that with the start of POCT II at the beginning of August, £10 free no deposit on Bingo Stars, will be disabled by the end of the 21st July.
We are currently working on a bonus tool offering free spins on signing-up to players, which is expected to be implemented mid-August.
New players to the site were offered the free play bonus and this was complemented with a 100% cash match offer and whilst not confirmed at this point (we are awaiting a response from the operators), we think this will be all that the site has for newbies until mid-August. At this point, we’ll check back and let you know of any changes.
Free Room At Bingo Stars?
As well as free spins, like the Cozy brands and many before them, could we see Bingo Stars roll out a new player room with free bingo too? Sites like these are going to continually have to start thinking out of the box to replace the free, no deposit bonuses and whilst it may be trying times for the operators, players could me in for some treats with the creative deals they come up with.
