Bingo has always been known for it’s involvement with charities; be it with a game being hosted to raise money for a good cause or an event like the one planned at the end of the month at Mecca Bingo, Bridgwater.
On 28th October from 6.30pm, the club will host an evening of free food, drink and games as well as a chocolate gift.
Care O’Clock At Mecca Bingo
The Care O’Clock event has been organised for the day that the clocks go back one hour. The party aims to highlight just how little time those who are unpaid carers have to themselves and gives them an extra hour because of the clock change.
Mecca Bingo works closely with Carers Trust, a charity that helps and supports unpaid carers across the UK.
Already this year, Mecca Bingo have raised over £100,000 and in charity bingo games online on 14th and 28th of each month, 50% of profits from special games are donated to the charity.
The event in Bridgwater is just one of 85 happening around the country and the manager, Lucie Harrison, said
The team here works really hard to support carers and this is event is just of many that we take part in to offer them a big thank you for the fantastic work they do.
Britain’s unpaid carers work incredibly long hours, usually to assist a loved one. We’re looking forward to welcoming local carers to the club and offering them a free evening of well-deserved fun.
