On the first of the month we reported on how Sun Bingo were hoping to break a couple of Guinness World Records and today, we can tell you that they achieved their aim.
On Saturday 3rd June Sun Bingo broke the official Guinness World Records for the largest set of bingo balls AND the largest bingo card. They achieved this with a little help from 400 players from their site and to ambassadors for the brand, Rustie Lee and Chico.
Sun Bingo Smash It
The only disappointment for us was that with the largest bingo card, the brand opted for 75 ball rather than the more traditional 90 ball bingo. However, this is probably something more to do with size rather than the game itself.
The start of the day brought the attempt at trying to get the record for the largest set of bingo balls and each ball was 70cm.
Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy (formerly Westlife band members) performed Flying Without Wings.
The winner of the game was Karen Hall and she landed herself a brand new TV. When the full house was called, the first of the two records was taken!
Next came the attempt for the largest bingo card and it was Peter Dickson of the X Factor who got the game underway. The winner of this game was Graham Thompson and he landed himself a cruise AND the record for Sun Bingo.
Comments From Sun Bingo
Rustie Lee is reported as having said
I’m over the moon to have been involved in the record breaking. It was brilliant seeing so many players involved in the event and helping to get Sun Bingo in to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Betting and Gaming Directors for Sun Bingo, Tom Ustunel, said
Saturday was a historic day for Sun Bingo and we’re very grateful to everyone who helped.
