John Wayne – A super simple game that looks smoking hot
There are plenty of Wild West based slot games out there so they have a lot to contend with in terms of having to offer something new. We took to the reels of the latest Western slot to see whether it managed to offer up something different.
What’s it all about?
This 5 reel, 25 payline slot game sees reels full of Cowboy hats, Boots, Sheriff Badges and John Wayne himself. The highest value of the symbols is the Wild Symbol, which pays a 5000x multiplier for the spinning of five occurrences. This symbol will also substitute for all others where higher winning combinations may be made. The next highest symbols are the three John Waynes, which hold 1000x, 500x and 300x multipliers for the spinning of 5 respectively. As well as the themed symbols this game features the standard slot symbols of A, K, Q, J and 10, which hold values of between 75x and 5x multipliers.
You can bet with as little as £0.01 all the way up to £50 per payline; this then means that you could be playing with a staggering £1250 per spin!
Any Bonus Rounds/Special Features?
John Wayne’s Raunch Bonus
The John Wayne’s Raunch Bonus is triggered by spinning 3 of the Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. During this round you’ll initially be awarded with 3 free games and a 1x multiplier. Here you’ll need to aim and shoot the cans in order to win a range of possible prizes (including additional free games, a multiplier, further bullets, a free games retrigger, a mystery wild or a mystery scatter).
The Duke’s Badge Feature
The Duke’s Badge Feature is triggered when you spin three or more of the Duke’s Badge onto any of the reels. Here you’ll need to pick one badge in order to win an instant, random cash prize. The more scatters there are that initially trigger the feature, the more there is to win. Spinning 5 scatter symbols will see you warded 80 -120x your total bet, spinning 4 will see you with 20 – 30x of your total bet and spinning 3 will see you with a 4 – 8x of your total bet.
How does it look?
This game looks pretty sharp. The design is relatively simplistic, with a nice Western backdrop and large symbols. The gameplay is made all the smoother by welldone graphics and the sound bite sare just enough to enhance gameplay.
In particular the shoot the cans bonus round has been well designed and overall we’d say that this easily makes for one of the best designed Western themed slots out there.
This game will be a hit with practically every type of player. For the newbie it offers a simple structure and for the pro player it offers the chance to stake down some serious money. This is one slot that you should take for a spin sooner rather than later.
