Once upon a time a bingo cruise was a regular occurrence at Foxy Bingo. The then marketing team would offer players the chance to win tickets on a themed cruise.
In October 2009 the destination was Rotterdam but in 2008, Foxy players had set sail to Bilboa. Cruise tickets were offered as bingo prizes on various games and there were quite the shenanigans on board.
One year a cardboard cut out of Foxy was kidnapped and seen posing with a players.
Mecca Bingo And P&O Launch Bingo Cruises
It’s taken a while for Mecca Bingo to catch up with Foxy on this one but a news article we came across recently revealed that P&O and Mecca have teamed up to offer mini bingo cruises.
The first floating bingo hall is set to sail to Amsterdam on February 2nd and prices per person are listed as £8. Hull is the departure point and players will be treated to entertainment on the outbound journey, as well as the return leg of their trip.
The entertainment will be Bonkers Bingo, a game that has a unconventional format. Players are encouraged to scream and shout. There will be a DJ and of course, fun prizes and cash to be won. Alcohol will be served and as you have to be 18 to play bingo, all passengers have to be this age and above.
The will also get a day to spend enjoying the Dutch capital.
The spokesperson for Mecca Bingo, Caroline Web, spoke to the Hull Daily Mail and is reported to have said
It really is Mecca ahoy for bingo fans as we work with P&O Cruise to launch this, the world’s first Bonkers bingo minicruise.
However, that’s not strictly true because Foxy Bingo were doing it way before Mecca!
