As the hit ITV show heads into it’s third week, security bosses on set have increased security after it was confirmed a murderer could be near the camp where celebrities such as Melanie Sykes, Jimmy Bullard and X-Factor 2014 contestant Jake Quickenden are based.

A man was killed with a tennis racquet outside his home in Coomera, a small town just five miles from where the show is being filmed. Whilst the incident took place on October 1st, the criminal is still very much at large with the Australian police admitting they’ve no leads.

A spokesperson for the Aussie police kept tight lipped about the incident: “The investigation into this case continues.”

On top of that, a woman was found dead in what was described as ‘suspicious circumstances’ just ten minutes from the camp.

ITV sources said they were aware of the deaths and that security of the celebrities and crew was of the “utmost importance”.

Frantic Rescue

It’s been a busy week for the crew at the I’m A Celeb camp as Jimmy Bullard and Carl Fogarty had to be rescued over the weekend. The duo had been separated from the camp as part of a trial in which rapper Tinchy Stryder and Irish Model Nadia Forde had to use clues to find them.

When the weather turned bad, the trial was cancelled and a helicopter was scrambled to rescue the duo trapped in a freak storm. Unfortunately, the helicopter had to turn back for safety reasons leaving the pair stranded at an outer camp on their own.

The heavy rain also made it impossible for a vehicle to get there which was the backup plan for security once the helicopter was unable to reach them. Eventually, a team of specially trained wardens reached them through 80mph winds and lightning.

It’s also reported at one point Jimmy Bullard – the ex-Premier League footballer – suffered a panic attack after he’d been rescued and had to be reassured about his safety as he was about to walk off the show.

Jimmy Bullard

Jimmy leaving would have been a massive loss for the show as he’s quickly progressed from just a cult figure among football fans to the fans favourite to win the show. After Gemma Collins and Craig Charles had already left, ITV bosses will be hoping no more contestants will leave.
