Highway Kings – A super shiny and simplistic game
We like to come across a slot that’s taken a fresh approach to its design and come up with a completely unique theme. Here we tell you about how one such game fared when we took a spin of its truck based themed reels.
What’s it all about?
This slot game takes on a rather unusual set up to its reels. Here you’ll see that there are only 9 paylines across 5 reels; the symbols do differ somewhat in this game, with some paying out for between 1 and 5 occurrences and some only paying out between 3 and 5 occurrences (because of this unusual set up we’d suggest checking out the pay table before taking it for a spin).
The highest value symbol that you’ll want to be aiming for is the Red Truck; this has 10000x, 500x, 50x, 10x and 2x multipliers attached to it for the spinning of 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 occurrence respectively. The way the tiered payouts then work is that the Yellow Truck, Green Truck, Petrol Pump, Jerry Can, and Spark Plug all pay for 5, 4, 3 and 2 occurrences; and then the Dice, the Crank, The Tyre and the Wheel all pay for 5, 4 and 3 occurrences.
Here the bet ranges from £0.01 per payline up to £5 per payline (this then means that the max bet per spin is £45 (this isn’t going to please the more high stakes players out there, we realise).
The Scatter Symbol in this game is the Exhaust Symbol, this symbol pays in any position, regardless of whether it’s in a winning payline or not. The Wild Symbol is the Red Truck, which means that it can substitute for all other symbols to help you make up winning combinations on your paylines.
Any Bonus Rounds/Special Features?
Nope, none at all. This game is about as simple as it gets. There’s no free games round, no gamble feature and nothing other than the Scatter and Wild symbols to look forward to.
How does it look?
We loved the look of this game… super simple, shiny and bright. The design takes on a cartoon style approach, with the payline buttons at either end of the reels framing them nicely.
This game certainly has a place in the world, but without additional bonus rounds and a higher bet range it won’t be making the favourite lists of high stakes or fast players.
This game does however offer one thing that many other slots fall down on, and that is its pure, uninterrupted game play. Here you need only focus on what can be pretty lucrative combinations; it very much reminds us of the more traditional slot games which were without the millions of bonus rounds we frequently see today.
All in all this game does offer enjoyment, all be it in a less frantic way.
